I bought both sets to see which one is better. The set of 2 speakers that light up is bigger, has more volume and the sound quality is good. It's too light at night so I wrapped it with tape. Cables should be a few inches longer. Slightly more bass than with a subwoofer. A set of 3 speakers, one of which is a subwoofer, doesn't sound as loud as a set of 2 color speakers, but they do sound fuller, but not by much. The cable length is better with this set. Hardly any bass even with the subwoofer. I use a 2 speaker kit and will most likely be returning the subwoofers because they are not that loud and a 2 speaker kit has more bass anyway. In addition, it is impractical to move 3 speakers instead of 2. Great pair of speakers, I'd recommend both: if you want clear and clean full-bodied movie speakers that don't get very loud or blind. If you have LEDs, get a subwoofer kit. If you want louder gaming speakers that sound great and have cool lighting, get the 2-tone speaker kit.
