We bought aprons to dye our ties for the upcoming party. They didn't take color well, but my toddler still enjoyed this activity. There's no specific fabric listed on the box, but I assume it only works on cotton since we didn't take ours. We used purple, yellow and pink. I'm glad we started with just three colors. We plan to purchase some other items to try other colors and see if we can get better results. The instructions state that the powder comes in sealed bottles and you only add water. That is not right. There's a tiny funnel with which the powder is poured into the bottles. There are fewer bottles than paints, so you'll need more if you want to use all the paints at once for some sort of party. Good for us, but something to consider.
