Smaller than looks and cheap looking.

I would be embarrassed to give this as a gift as it looks very cheap. The wood tone is plastic and not very thick. The clock works but is supposed to be silent, my wife told me it is very loud whirling sounds at night during quiet times. I ordered a new clock guts and will replace them in our current clock, this will fit back into kitchen and save a few bucks to boot.
