*Happy Hair* - Personal Care

This is a set of four shower caps lined in various beautiful pastel colours: the inside is black. The ribbed edge scratches the face a bit. reversible. Can be worn to keep hair dry in the shower. Or oil your hair in the shower: I wash my hair, rinse it and squeeze out excess water. Then I apply a moisturizing conditioner, oil or hair mask. [I have thick, high porosity 4a curly hair that is prone to frizz and thirst.] Since the oil or mask needs to stay on the skin for 10-15 minutes, I immediately put on a shower cap and continue showering. This is usually enough time for conditioner/oils, after which I can rinse my hair. If I want the oils or mask to "marinate" longer, I just cap it and rinse off later. The cap retains the heat of the oil/mask and prevents the hair from drying out until you are ready to dry or style your hair. The cap also blocks air. The caps can be worn overnight to maintain the oil or mask and the oils will not leach onto the linens. You may need to put cotton pads under the elastic as the pleated elastic will scratch. Very happy with the quality and price and glad I figured out how to save time by combining the shower, mask and conditioner. and gave me more flexibility in managing my curly hair regimen. UPDATE 4/12/21: Edges are still very scratchy. The caps are really waterproof and hold up very well (I use two caps alternately). The lids are not cracked, not cracked, not torn. I like that they are double layered. They are easy to wash [I apply a little shampoo with my hand to wash off the hair mask, rinse and pull inside out to allow both inside and outside to air dry. The only drawback are the scratchy edges. It does not soften with use or over time. Cannot be used as a sleepyhead unless the edges are lined with cotton balls or cosmetic circles.

Pros
  • Top marks for hold and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as others
