Seems well thought out
This product was fairly easy to assemble using a heat gun to put the outer cap on the connector. Haven't used it yet but by attaching it to the male end of the cord it fits very well. Maybe not waterproof, but definitely waterproof. I assume this works pretty well as long as your connection to the boat is solid. Comments about the plug sticking out too far are incorrect. It fits perfectly with the original cable. I like the idea of using it as a backup cable as it's not as strong as the original.
