Mine melted. After closer inspection. I saw that the screw terminal was installed incorrectly at the factory. This caused my neutral to not be properly clamped. This, in turn, caused sparks under heavy load (air conditioning operation) and melted the entire connection.

Cons

Holds old cable

Waterproof case is tight but fits perfectly. The connections are straight and marked. Used in marine environments to replace the cast end of a West Marine cable that has burned on one side. The side of the boat always burns after about 4 years and only in summer with heavy AC usage. The rest of the cable is always in good condition. I expect this product to double the life of the cable. Completely satisfied!

Don't buy this fork.

This was a replacement for the same item that was installed a year ago and broke. Just like this one broke, only it lasted 2 rides, this one broke on first plugging. The weatherproof nut fell off in pieces. Otherwise the Assyrian plug is excellent, the mounting nut is rubbish. I have worked in electrical engineering for 30 years and have never seen such faulty products. Now I have 2 new broken RV sockets.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Available in white only

DO NOT BUY - L white reason NOT FOR HOT GREEN WIRE

No, do not buy! YOU WILL DAMAGE YOUR RV'S ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT! You put the code and color for the GREEN wire where the WHITE wire should go. This means that if you don't follow the instructions that are there, YOU WILL BLOW ALL YOUR ELECTRICITY OUT in your RV and it will cost you a fortune! Do not buy! If you're not listening, take a picture of the original wiring. White connects to L WHITE - GROUND WIRE, not green! DO NOT BUY!

  • Annual test

Seems well thought out

This product was fairly easy to assemble using a heat gun to put the outer cap on the connector. Haven't used it yet but by attaching it to the male end of the cord it fits very well. Maybe not waterproof, but definitely waterproof. I assume this works pretty well as long as your connection to the boat is solid. Comments about the plug sticking out too far are incorrect. It fits perfectly with the original cable. I like the idea of using it as a backup cable as it's not as strong as the…

  • Good product for the price

Unsafe item: plugs, sockets and sockets

Bought on 28th April 2020 and installed on my cable shortly after. Used a camper with this cable until September 2020 without any problems. Went camping 9-13 September and used air and heat as needed during the trip. Wanted to unplug the power cord from the camper and couldn't twist the plug a quarter turn to unplug it. Used a couple of channel blocked players and was able to unplug the cable. I found that the plug on the black connector was burned out and the end of the cable was soldered into

Pros
  • Nice packaging

  • Can't remember
