I needed a Smith-Corona Electra XT ribbon which I got for free. Research has shown that it does not use a "universal" tape that is a name and not a descriptor. Typical for the industry, especially for consumer goods. How many regular "universal" consumables don't fit everything the name suggests? So I bought it and wound it on the smaller spools that came with the Elektra. I didn't take the whole ribbon so I cut it off, punched a hole in it and stuck the fabric fastener from the sewing kit onto the cut back rivet. Used staples to make the ends so they stay in the roller bushings. I expected that, no wonder. It works great and the colors look really nice.
