I wanted a compact AM/FM/CD unit to listen to music through headphones while reading in bed. This Jensen suits my purposes. It is easy to install and operate and does not take up much space. It includes many FM stations; Anything within a 50-mile radius is reasonably well received, even if a small wire isn't the most sophisticated antenna. AM reception is mediocre but there isn't much in my AM range that interests me. CDs play well and sound good. The entire remote control is fully functional, but the plastic coating on the buttons is peeling off after a week of use. The sound from the included speakers is about average for a cheap table radio - a little limited in the highs and lows. The sound is much better with good headphones. When you first turn on the TV and use FM, there will be a slight popping noise that will disappear after a minute or two, and the stations may be slightly off frequency during the first few minutes of operation. The time is only displayed when the device is switched on, so it cannot replace a bedside clock. I am using the stand that came with it, not the wall mounted one; the display cannot be read at eye level. You have to stand up and look at the small circular display window to read the time or frequency displayed. This kit can't compete with a quality stereo receiver and CD player used with full range speakers, but for a budget system it's not bad. I would rate it three and a half stars.
