I was glad to get this four slot toaster but was very disappointed when I used it for the first time. I had to trim the bread about an inch because the slits are too short. I don't know what they were thinking. This is great for bagels, but for regular bread you'll need to cut about an inch off the ends for it to fit. TO UPDATE:. I went to use the right side for my toast and as soon as I pushed the lever down the toaster started smoking. I had to turn it off because I was afraid it would catch fire! This is a hazard, do not buy!
