With 3 cats and 4 litter boxes, every pet product I buy is fully tested. Each of my boxes has its own equipment. I love this owl! Good grip length. I guess between the acidity of the urine and the natural abrasiveness of the manure, it wears off. So if you're wed to the idea of "non-stick coating"; Do not base your purchasing decision on this factor alone. It's easy to clean, but you have to clean it.
