I have four Leatherman multi tools and bought my first in the early 1990's when I was in the US Army. I was so impressed with this multi tool that I bought it for my dad as a Christmas present (I bought him a Wave). After my first Leatherman (Wave) purchase, I also bought a Wingman and a pair of Micras. I have also been buying stainless steel multi tools made in China for years and have not been impressed at all with how difficult they are to open, how cheap stainless steel is, how easily they rust and poor quality tools in general. I have relied on the Wetols multi tool (tools 21 and 1) and have been completely blown away by the high quality of this tool. It feels very similar if not better than the Leatherman multi tool. I love the locking mechanism on all the tools, the way the pliers spring, the smooth opening and closing of the tools, the case this tool comes in, and I highly recommend this multi tool as a GREAT alternative to Leatherman multi tools. . I am so excited about this instrument that I am going to buy it for my little brother as a birthday present. The only thing that surprised me about this product is how big and heavy this tool is. This is not a tool to put in your pocket. This is a fantastic, multi-functional, high-performance beast! Update: When using my new multi-tool I would only magnetize the four screwdriver bits and the wrench slot so the bits stay securely in the wrench slot when in use.
