An interesting device, in fact it is a digital infrared video camera with hidden IR lighting. I wouldn't really classify it as night vision as it doesn't amplify the ambient light. It offers slightly improved visibility at dusk and dawn without IR on, but in the dark or even on a moonlit snowy night it won't show anything without IR on. While with IR on you are almost invisible within 25-50 meters to people without night vision, with 1x you can walk and complete tasks normally. The view is so clear you can read a newspaper in total darkness with low IR. You can see almost as well inside a house or building during the day. There are very few lags in the transmission, I don't want to run into those, but going and doing something else is easy. I've kept my pistol in the dark and most of the time you get a good feel for the scope and while I haven't fired live fire yet I see no reason why you can't make good hits within 25 yards once you do have a reliable view. to do this, mount a helmet or shoot with one hand. I assume it will be a battery hog, but AAs are cheap and easy to get too. IR level determines battery life and you can see very well at the lowest IR setting (level 1 of 7). With a good helmet and some preparation I think you would be a force to be reckoned with unless your opponent was wearing really high dollar settings. Let's see how strong it will be, but for now two thumbs up.
