First, good. The paint is nice and looks good. Then not so much. 1. The screw appears to be improperly tightened and will not close the vise, leaving it open about 1/2 inch. Some people put wood inserts in their vise, but I only do it when I'm doing a good job. Didn't expect to have to just close the vise 2. The bolt was very tight after closing the vise 1/2 The oil didn't help. Remove the guide rods and the vise will close to the last 1/2 inch. 3. The vise has a V-shaped hole. Normally the vise closes top first, but this clamp closes bottom first. So when you place a 4x4 vise it closes at the bottom leaving a 3/8 inch gap at the top. Summary: I have an unusable vise for a number of reasons. I will be contacting Shop Fox support but this was purchased as a Christmas present. And now that the bench is together, the vise I received isn't working and I have yet to find a vise that works. I hope you have better luck.
