Stuck Right in the Middle

There are two main types of subordinate gateways. You have the cheap ones that only rely on tension and then you have the heavy ones that need to be installed. These gates claim to be tension gates with gates. It seemed suspicious, but I agreed. I received this item, unpacked it and followed the installation instructions. You're immediately told that if you don't screw the brackets into your walls or door frame, you won't keep the child from tipping over. What do we learn from this? In fact, this is not a stretch gate. So if it's not a stretch gate, it's trying to compete with the big bad heavy gates. Well, it doesn't work there. That's the problem - the latch is complete bullshit. It's a cheap plastic that needs to be pressed to open and close. I know why they did it. They wanted you to be able to open the gate in any direction. Here's the problem - an automatic latch is MUCH more useful than the ability to rotate the gate in two directions, especially if you have it installed in a door. The gate is not only weak but also hardly closes. I really doubt how well it will hold the baby. Well if you plan on using this for dog gates without installing the brackets and using it as a real stretch gate then you're fine. You paid too much, but it's not that bad. Dogs are not allowed. So in summary - children - NO - dogs - maybe.
