These binoculars feel solid, neither light nor heavy - they pass my "acid test" of product quality. The optics are very clear and the picture quality is better than I need: from 25 meters away I can read the nutritional information on the yoghurt container, which means there is enough clarity to make clear and crisp lettering. Contrast is good and I honestly can't fault the rendering of what I see through the lenses. I'm glad I didn't spend more. I was looking for a decent pair of binoculars to take with me for hunting, fishing, scouting/wildlife viewing, etc., but felt uncomfortable spending over $100. I've been a photographer for a long time, so I can appreciate good optics and what they can do for a picture; However, since I felt like I wasn't shooting through binoculars - in other words, not reproducing the image I see in real life to save on another medium - I felt like I could compromise a bit as the best possible optics weren't required...for observation purposes, not imaging. I almost bought a Nikon Prostaff glass for $178 but overall I'm happy with this purchase and that I didn't spend three times as much. That's not to say Prostaff glass isn't better, I'm sure; However, there is a point where the return starts to diminish and I think I hit that point perfectly with this purchase.
