Defective, waste of money
The town I live in encourages the use of outdoor Christmas lights from October to March. A good garland should last at least a few years. I ran them on timers for less than a month and a 5ft or so filament stopped burning. Strangely, the rest of the filament still burns. I'm not willing to climb ladders over snow and ice to replace a strand. It will stand partially lit and look ridiculous by spring. Don't waste your money on these unreliable devices.
