Put them on and soon after I couldn't figure out why I was getting a lot of spatters. Took them off, lined them and cut about 15 inches of wire, spatter was greatly reduced. Soon the splashes almost completely disappeared. The wiper seal (grey) may be great but not smeared with "grease" all over. update date. Found this gas hose leaking. Leak fixed and no problems
