Read Before Buying Tahoe Emblems

Poor quality control and poor fit. Contrary to some of these other reviews, I bought the correct model for my car (which is confirmed on the manufacturer's website). I received this item and it had what appeared to be a serious paintwork defect on a very obvious part. The description says it is powder coated but judging by the nature of the surface imperfection it is most likely paint. I sent it back and exchanged it for a slightly better condition. The workmanship isn't that great, but at least the second one didn't have any obvious paint defects. The biggest problem is the fit. This item is meant to fit my 2013 Tahoe, which seems to fit. The problem is that the emblem has two pins that go into the car for alignment and those pins are too big for the factory holes. The factory part it comes in is plastic so it's very easy to drill them out and mount them a bit, but why would I need to drill into a factory plate when this part can hold smaller pins? The second problem is the curvature of the rear part "turns off". This causes the emblem to have a fairly noticeable gap when viewed from the side. As a result, the adhesive strips that attach them to the vehicle are clearly visible from the side. Emblem and black car. I had to remove the emblem and factory tape and replace it with black 3M tape that was on hand. I suspect most of you don't have 3M black tape handy so this would be an even bigger problem.
