Overall I liked the set. The instructions aren't amazing, but that's pretty typical for these kits. They are in English, although for the most part he avoids words and only tries to explain things with pictures. My only criticism of the instructions is that they start with instructions on how to assemble the contents of the house (furniture, lighting, etc.) and then move on to the structure of the house itself, rather than nesting them. He tries to indicate where all the pieces end up going, but a lot of things aren't labelled, and not all the rooms are clearly shown - or they are, but not in a summarizing place of explanatory pictures. So it becomes a kind of "Where's Waldo" game with furniture and descriptive pictures. However, the guide is generally good enough. However, where this set really shines is in the organization of its pieces. The parts list is complete, with drawings to scale making it easy to determine which of the many potential candidates is the right rectangle of wood for a particular step. All parts are in clearly labeled, well organized packages, one package per letter (AD) and multiple packages in each high level package, each individual package has a reference to the range of part numbers it contains. This made it pretty easy to see that some parts were missing. In my case, most of the plastic vegetation. Although (fortunately) not structural, their absence tends to detract from the beauty of the surrounding gardens. This may worry me a bit, but given the nature of these types of kits, it probably isn't the case. It's not common for buyers 🙂 Speaking of anal, there's an obviously wrong note in the music box. You might expect them to be a bit out of tune (which they are), but usually the notes are at least correct. While this may be a disadvantage of my kit, it is not necessarily a disadvantage of all kits. Then again, I doubt anyone would actually buy this for a music box. It's easier not to start the box to ignore its flaws than to selectively ignore the missing exterior details.
