I have a bad knee that gives me immense pain, no matter the position of my leg. The orthopedic doctor gave me an injection of cortisone, which relieved the pain, but for only two days, then the pain was back as before. My health service nurse, as instructed by the doctor, fitted me with a leg brace (of elastic nature) that fastens with heavy velcro about my leg and knee. It is easy to put on and take off and does provide some relief while sitting in my recliner with my leg up, but the knee pain is still there and the pain returns and can get very intense especially while walking.I read about these copper based knee braces and bought one, the best thing that I have gotten for the knee pain. While the pain is not gone, it is relieved tremendously, and I can move about without the immense pain I had before. While sitting in my recliner with my leg up, there is almost no pain. I am going to buy a second one of these braces because I am sure that the one on the leg now will eventually show some wear and the pain relief will not be as good as it is now. Again, this brace is be best thing that I have gotten for the pain. I wish I had gotten it sooner.
