This material is quite long and thick, but can also be easily broken into pieces. I only needed 2.5 of these to fill my Cascade 1000's media basket and that's enough for me. Another 27.5! Although they're traditionally used in large pans, I've already found a place for them in my Eclipse 20 with a top pan, as well as my 3-gallon cubic tank with a back pan, which unexpectedly swallowed a whole one. This stuff is perfect if you have multiple tank syndrome like me and need tons of biomedium, or you have a massive aquarium with a big sump and want it to work. 5 Stars.
