There is a lot of confusion about USB and coaxial digital audio cables, maybe this will help: USB and coaxial digital audio cables are not "digital" cables. These are analog cables. At one end, zeros and ones are encoded into electronic pulses, which are decoded back into zeros and ones at the DAC end, and the DAC synthesizes the sound. Impulses are either encoded and decoded correctly or not. The idea of jitter as something that affects sound quality is a swamp gas. I think the Toslink (optical) cable is a true "digital" cable because it carries pulses of light that are obviously not associated with the analog cable. The quality of the DAC chip is of more interest in terms of sound quality, but many audiophiles consider the supporting analog components even more important than the DAC chip itself. I have this cable and it seems to be of good quality but it doesn't sound good "Better" than a well designed and less expensive cable. And I can't say it lasts longer. I have USB cables that are more expensive than AQ and don't sound "better". Perceived value is subjective, and if you only like expensive cables, I think this cable can be considered a steal.
