I am an Occupational Therapist and ordered this bar for a patient to help them get up from a sitting position in the bath. The installation was very easy, I did it in just a few minutes. Due to the clip design, it is suitable for a variety of bathtubs. All you have to do is place it on the edge of the tub and twist the handle until the clamp is tight enough. It must be sufficiently strong before it is expected to support the weight when pulled. I would also recommend testing it out before getting in the tub to make sure the fit is secure enough. You can also hold on to it while stepping over the edge of the tub. This is a cheaper and easily removable alternative to handrails that need to be built into walls. It has a gasket on the inside of the clip so it doesn't ruin the tub. This device enabled my patient to return to self-exit from the bath. It's also well rated. Would definitely order again.
