Fantastic grinder!

I am a retired engineer and very difficult to please. So I did a lot of comparison shopping before finally settling on the Bonsaii 4S30 shredder. My main requirement was that I wanted to shred paper without stopping, without having to wait for the shredder to cool down. This is referred to as 100% duty cycle. Although the Bonsaii 4S30 doesn't offer 100 percent duty cycle, it allows the user to shred paper for up to 4 hours continuously, which is more than enough for most people, myself included. In short, I was blown away by the performance of the Bonsaii 4S30 - IT IS ABSOLUTELY AWESOME! And no, I don't work for Bonsaii or Revain... When I first hooked up the 4S30, my original intention was just to grind a few test sheets. Instead, the shredder worked so well that I destroyed a fully-stocked bank box (12" x 24" x 12") containing years-old bank statements, credit card statements, and brokerage statements. That's a lot of paper! Bonsaiii classifies the 4S30 as a P-5 security shredder. But let me tell you, the microcut pieces of paper are cut so finely they almost look like kitty litter. In other words, unless you work for the NSA (National Security Agency), you don't really need their 5S30 shredder, which is classified as a P-6 (highest security) shredder. Also, the 4S30 can shred up to 10 sheets of paper at a time, while the 5S30 can shred only 5 sheets. So the 4S30 is much faster. One of the really nice features of the 4S30 is the ability to auto-reverse. This way the 4S30 won't get stuck like most paper shredders if you accidentally put too many sheets of paper in the input slot. Instead, the 4S30 will automatically stop and reverse the paper feed by approximately 1 inch. This makes it easy to remove the paper, split it in two, and reinsert it into the input slot. Fiction! Of course, like most paper shredders, the 4S30 has manual controls to feed the paper fed into the input slot forwards or backwards. However, because the 4S30 has an auto-reverse feature, these controls are rarely used. Although quiet operation wasn't my top priority, I soon found that the 4S30 was almost silent when shredding paper. If I don't put my ear directly to the device, the only audible (soft) sound is "crispy" paper. In other words, the motor and fan inside the device are virtually silent. In fact, I could easily shred paper while on the phone. The person I spoke to didn't hear the helicopter running and neither did I! This is my second paper shredder. My first was a German-made Crocodile Crosscut C-2000 shredder. Since this shredder can only shred 4 sheets of paper at a time and it doesn't have an auto-reverse function, it usually gets stuck when I accidentally overload it with too many sheets. And even though the machine has a manual reverse switch, it's still VERY DIFFICULT to clear paper jams! Of course, the 4S30 completely eliminates this very annoying problem. When I first loaded paper into the 4S30, the paper feed speed was slower than the paper feed speed in my old Crocodile shredder. However, I soon found that the 4S30 can shred at least twice as many sheets of paper at once, so it's actually faster. In addition, the 4S30 is a micro-cut shredder, so it shreds paper into significantly smaller pieces (2mm x 10mm or 0.078" x 0.393") than a cross-cut shredder. The Bonsaii 4S30 can also shred credit cards, CDs and DVDs. . It has a separate slot for this purpose and a separate small bin that sits in the main trash bin to catch frayed plastic bits. This small container can be easily removed for emptying. If the bin is not replaced, all shredded credit card, CD and DVD pieces end up in the main paper bin where they are mixed with the shredded paper. If you decide to buy a Bonsaii 4S30 paper shredder you will not be disappointed!
