Quiet, powerful, big (did I mention quiet?)

Probably the best (and most expensive) shredder I've ever bought. I've been using it for a while and have found that there's almost nothing I can't handle! At our "annual shredder festival in the home office" I was able to shred almost non-stop for an hour. I had to empty the recycle bin 3 times with no problems. The "10 sheets" limit is really the maximum you can put in as the machine will stall, but continuously shredding 7/8 sheets at a time wasn't a problem. Be sure to lubricate the knives…

Not bad, but still falls short in some design aspects.

Very similar to Fellowes design in terms of product shape. However, the Fellowes brand has excellent casters to move the device around. The casters or rather "wheels" of this device feel flimsy, very small and flimsy considering the weight it carries. The wheels only move in one axis. Here Fellowe's has the upper hand. I prefer the matte black block, but I had no choice but to choose white based on the size of confetti I wanted. The basket has an unusual shape, so the paper shredding bag cannot

Quiet shredder, secure enough for most uses.

I'm used to a P-7 grinder at work, a $3000 machine. It was slower than the commercial P-7 but fast enough to be used without long waits. What surprised me is that it was so quiet and didn't overheat during an hour of continuous use. I was worried the patches would be too big because I'm used to the P-7. I was happy with the level of grinding. I didn't feel like anyone would take the work out of putting it back together. In 2011, DARPA faced the challenge of shredding with computer vision. I'm…

He just keeps hacking and hacking! - 2 year update. Still cutting!

Review after a week in possession: Don't worry about the 10-page limit, you can't keep up with this paper shredder! I've been collecting materials to shred since my Fellowes shredder was fried over a year ago. After reading hundreds of reviews, I finally settled on the Bansaii 4S30 for its 240 minute runtime and P-5 safety rating. So far I've had two nits about going with this unit: 1) The CD-ROM bin clogs too much of the grind bin, making it difficult to remove plastic bags once they're full…

Tears like a champion and fail

We have many secret documents and CDs that need to be destroyed. Well it did the job and was so easy to use that my niece was looking for more crap to destroy around the house. She was able to take out a 30 gallon bag full of documents, CDs and plastic cards in about 3 hours. It is very quiet for its function. The CDs actually turn into these really cool looking mosaic tiles and I had to resist the urge to do anything with them because they were so cool. The CD tray needs to be monitored to…

Bonsaii EverShred Pro 4S30 vs Fellowes 99ci

I bought this shredder to replace a Fellowes 99 shredder which mechanism broke after six years of heavy use. It's slower than the Fellowes shredder, has a narrower chute, shreds only ten pages at a time (compared to the Fellows 18) and has no touch safety shutoff. But it is quieter and built like a Mac truck. Fifteen minutes later Fellowes looked like an asthmatic sprinter. He was out of breath, he needed to cool down. Bonsai just smiles. Think of Eveready Bunny with lots of very sharp knives…

Very good grinder!

I have to agree with most other reviewers that this is a very good shredder. I bought it because it has 4 hours of continuous use. I have a lot of old documents to shred and was thankful that our old shredder that was overheating every 10 minutes finally broke because that alone made shredding painfully slow, tedious and frustrating. (especially compared to the commercial paper shredders I used at work). I just destroyed a big box of old bills and junk mail. The shredder worked for about an…

Fantastic grinder!

I am a retired engineer and very difficult to please. So I did a lot of comparison shopping before finally settling on the Bonsaii 4S30 shredder. My main requirement was that I wanted to shred paper without stopping, without having to wait for the shredder to cool down. This is referred to as 100% duty cycle. Although the Bonsaii 4S30 doesn't offer 100 percent duty cycle, it allows the user to shred paper for up to 4 hours continuously, which is more than enough for most people, myself…
