Ok, this works really well and could get a much higher rating from me. I purchased this product because of smoke rising from Camp Fay, Butte County, California in early November 2018. It cleaned the air in my 10 x 12 foot room in 10 minutes on a medium fan speed. The night lighting options are very good (only blue light that changes every color of the rainbow, or no light). I tried the night function, which turns off all lights and runs on the lowest fan speed to reduce noise, but due to the smoke, I had to increase the fan speed and turn it on. I turned off the night light and simply placed a folded towel on top to cover the lighted panel. Light. This product is really easy to use and the instruction manual is easy to follow. HOWEVER, I owe my 2 star rating to the smell of this product's "baby powder" filter, which lasted for over a week despite running this purifier continuously on a medium fan. For me, the scent was most noticeable after moving away from the room for at least 15 minutes, but then I got used to it again (it wasn't terrible or overpowering for me, but very noticeable). The smell bothered my cat a lot as cats are sensitive, but the smoke outside the room was worse so it was best to stay in the room with an air purifier (the house is rented and NOT energy efficient). Because of this odor issue for me and my cat, I am suspicious of buying a replacement filter. I would have preferred an unscented filter! I don't remember this fragrance being listed in the product information when I bought it.
