I have a huge landscape with over a dozen of these lamps. I asked my lighting contractor to replace the halogen bulbs with LED bulbs as they had burned out. I was advised to convert all bulbs to LED at the same time. A power imbalance between halogen and LED bulbs can damage my transformer. Replacing a burned out transformer costs more than $400. Replacing all 15 bulbs with LEDs would cost me about $225. At the current price I can buy 26 spare halogens. Considering I change about 2 a year. That gives me 13 years to break even. There is no advantage.
