Reliable Lightbulb - Lightbulbs

My previous lamp of this type lasted more than 5 years so I replaced it with a natural one. So far it works great and the price is reasonable.

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • A lot

Terrible replacement for a GE bulb

I have been buying the same GE bulb since I had landscape lighting installed in 2000. 10 am. This bulb, which comes with a 5 year guarantee, lasted 1 month less than a year. DO NOT BUY THESE unless you intend to replace them every year!

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • I am writing back

What I needed: Light bulbs

We couldn't find them at the local big hardware stores. We found them with house electricity but they wanted so much for delivery it was just ridiculous! I'm glad we found them here for the same price without having to pay huge shipping costs. A trusted brand with a history of great performance. The lights were bright!

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • A dubious purchase for the elderly

The right bulb for my 12V outdoor lighting

Got these onions in stock this week. Each lamp was packed very well, maybe too well as it took some time to unpack each one. But no problems, at least they arrived in mint condition, safe and sound. I give 4 stars because the lamps have a short lifespan. I seem to change them regularly about every 6 months. I wish they had made a brighter LED version that would run on the same 12v outdoor lighting system.

Pros
  • All right!
Cons
  • Some trouble

Two of the 3 bulbs ordered were defective

2 of the 3 bulbs ordered were defective. One had a crack in the outer lens and the other was only half bright. I noticed that my original 3 year old bulbs (yes they lasted that long) were made in the USA. Philips replacement bulbs were stamped in China. Didn't know the lamps are made in China. Doesn't really matter but I see a lack of quality control on my order as these bulbs arrived defective from the factory.

Pros
  • Great product
Cons
  • Something different

They're getting harder and harder to find

I have a huge landscape with over a dozen of these lamps. I asked my lighting contractor to replace the halogen bulbs with LED bulbs as they had burned out. I was advised to convert all bulbs to LED at the same time. A power imbalance between halogen and LED bulbs can damage my transformer. Replacing a burned out transformer costs more than $400. Replacing all 15 bulbs with LEDs would cost me about $225. At the current price I can buy 26 spare halogens. Considering I change about 2 a year. That

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • A little wrinkled

Reliable product for many years

I have a low voltage landscape lighting system and have been using 36w and 50w Phillips bulbs in a durable glass case for five years. I find it to be a very reliable, if somewhat expensive, product. I'm happy with it because the bulbs last a long time and give more than enough light. If you live in a gated community (or are otherwise secure) you don't have to leave the lights on all night and this can prolong the need for a lightbulb change. Cheaper plastic bulbs only last a few months anywayโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not sure
