Review on Tapestry Sewing Needles - Bohin Hand Needles in Size by Amber Perez

Superb (Blunt) Cross Stitch Needles

These are my favorite cross stitch needles. I've tried a few that folded right away and didn't have that problem with these (and I hold onto them and love tightening my Aida). Gold needles (Susan Bates Anchor Tapestry Sewing Needles, Size 24, Gold Plated, 4-pack) could have been a bit cheaper, but the gold wore out so quickly it wasn't worth it. They have blunt ends, but make no mistake, that means they can't pierce your fingers - sew carefully! I also recommend having a magnetic stick (like the Dritz Magnetic Pin Wand) in case you drop your pin. My main downside (which makes me deduct a star) is that their packaging leaves a lot to be desired. They are placed in a black cloth wrapped in a cardboard box (with a transparent window on the front) but the needles are not fully wrapped (top and bottom of the box are open). This means that during shipping they can fall out of the packaging and end up in the shipping carton. So be extra careful when opening the box, especially if you have small children or pets. For example, if the company had put the packages in a tiny sealed plastic bag, this could have been avoided.

Pros
  • Needle Point
Cons
  • Very Expensive

These are my favorite needles for counted cross stitch. Made in France.
