Quality Needle

I started cross stitching using DMC needles available at my local Joanns store. That's their only advantage. You stick it in Hades, pull it. Threading without a needle threader is also difficult. The Bohin needles glide smoothly through the Aida, never snag, never pull, I can thread easily without a needle threader. I really love Bohin needles. It's worth waiting for their delivery.

Needles that don't break immediately!

Cross stitching was my first passion because it seemed like a cheaper hobby than knitting. While it's still technically correct, I had to spend a lot more than I originally planned just to buy needles. The ones sold at my local craft and fabric stores appear to be graphite because they tear easily when I pull them through. But not with these! I've had a kink or two and even a broken ear, but so far one pack has lasted me longer than THREE packs of any other brand. I think they just don't make…

Superb (Blunt) Cross Stitch Needles

These are my favorite cross stitch needles. I've tried a few that folded right away and didn't have that problem with these (and I hold onto them and love tightening my Aida). Gold needles (Susan Bates Anchor Tapestry Sewing Needles, Size 24, Gold Plated, 4-pack) could have been a bit cheaper, but the gold wore out so quickly it wasn't worth it.
