Buy this! I tried a few other slings I bought from Revain and had to return them. This stays in place. The arm is held by this elastic soft bandage so that the arm does not slip forward. The neck strap is quite soft and padded. When we used it at home it didn't chafe his neck at all but it got red all day at school so we took off the bandage we got from the hospital association and ended up putting it on. The best part is the velcro that holds it in place. this is VERY STRONG. You can close the Velcro once a day and don't have to constantly adjust it. My son uses the thumb loop and seems to feel more secure. it would be ok to use without it. I wanted to find a sling that he wouldn't have to struggle with at school, which was great.
