Mixed feelings: computers and accessories

My first list of dislikes: That remote-controlled hockey puck thing sucks. Cheap, poorly made, overly sensitive, highly customizable. I can't say anything good about them - they must be detachable and of high quality. Turn up my high definition audio EQ and gently balance the subwoofer with the overall sound. I managed to get the sound to be decent, but one reviewer who said he was an audiophile and thought it was fine lied - not without some serious work. The speakers simply have no cable. 2 more feet for each and it would be perfect for under the table. Since it's - hardly, but - finally tuned and balanced for all volume levels, I agree to the point of not returning it because of the price. The hockey puck was taped and hidden so it couldn't be played. Also, the top "dial" was bent or something, and it wobbles and rubs when you turn it. Doesn't inspire confidence. So what do I like? The sound after adjustment is normal. Not great - good. After all, that's what I bought it for. I'll probably make my own cable for some of the old Harmon Kardon satellite speakers I have and use this in place of the ones that might work with it - even after installation they sound thin. I blame plastic diaphragms for this. If I didn't have them, but knew what they sound like, I'd be seriously entertained to spend more for better quality.
