I followed the advice of others and cleaned all the connections and even opened up the subwoofer to see if anything was coming loose, but couldn't identify the source. I can't say anything good about them - they must be detachable and of high quality. Turn up my high definition audio EQ and gently balance the subwoofer with the overall sound. NOT SO GOOD Mids rely heavily on a sub-cabinet as the drivers in the satellite speakers are quite small and there is no tweeter. This is not uncommon for computer speakers. The lack of volume compared to the Arion Legacy if you wanted to use it as a movie watching system (with a group of people). GOOD: Satellites are small - a good thing for most desktops. Finally managed to connect them and all I can say is wow! For the price, these things sound very good. I was surprised at how noisy they get, more than filling my entire family room, about 14ft by 22ft. For $56 you can't beat them.
