Good quality and better connectivity than previous models

I got these because my previous Cyber Acoustics system started cracking at random times. I followed the advice of others and cleaned all the connections and even opened up the subwoofer to see if anything was coming loose, but couldn't identify the source. I think the source was the connection from the volume control to the subwoofer. However, this speaker set doesn't have that connection (the wire from the volume control goes straight to the subwoofer, no plug), so there shouldn't be the same…

Mixed feelings: computers and accessories

My first list of dislikes: That remote-controlled hockey puck thing sucks. Cheap, poorly made, overly sensitive, highly customizable. I can't say anything good about them - they must be detachable and of high quality. Turn up my high definition audio EQ and gently balance the subwoofer with the overall sound. I managed to get the sound to be decent, but one reviewer who said he was an audiophile and thought it was fine lied - not without some serious work. The speakers simply have no cable. 2…

Good sound/balance considering there is no dedicated tweeter

NOT SO GOOD Mids rely heavily on a sub-cabinet as the drivers in the satellite speakers are quite small and there is no tweeter. This is not uncommon for computer speakers. The lack of volume compared to the Arion Legacy if you wanted to use it as a movie watching system (with a group of people). GOOD: Satellites are small - a good thing for most desktops. The processing/surface quality is excellent. Aside from being loud (which doesn't matter on a personal system), it has pretty good…

Pleasantly surprised.until they collapsed

Finally managed to connect them and all I can say is wow! For the price, these things sound very good. I was surprised at how noisy they get, more than filling my entire family room, about 14ft by 22ft. For $56 you can't beat them. Setup was easy and the small volume button is very handy to have within reach on your desktop. I am very happy with my purchase and would buy them again. Update for today 8/12/16 Subwoofer died today, a bit disappointed about it. The speakers weren't even used that…

I wanted to love them

I really wanted to like these speakers and I was really looking forward to getting them and putting them up. When I placed whatever I wanted, sat down and cranked them up, I was disappointed. When I was growing up and living at home, we had a set of Logitech speakers with a subwoofer and a volume/bass control (there was no aux input back then). They were great speakers, amazing bass, and cost about $80 (2004). So, given the price and performance of these speakers, I assumed the quality would be

Surprisingly muted bass

Bought this system to replace Cyber Acoustics CA-3602a 62W speakers (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0027VT6V4) bought 5 years ago. When switched off, it is spontaneously short-circuited. Talk about planned obsolescence. To be honest I wouldn't buy from the same company again, but I couldn't find anything with the features I wanted in this price range due to the limited desktop space. The speakers, while more powerful, occupy the same minimal footprint. The subwoofer has fewer ports, so I hope to…
