Yes, it was hard to get the bottom off and the fact that it had been commented on before gave me some direction how to screw it off. I have lubricated the threads so I won't have the same problem again. One caution about this, however, is to use a bare minimum of lub because it wouldn't be good to get it on the battery contacts. It smells a little funny at first but I sprayed it with my lavender furniture and clothing disinfectant and it smells fine now. This is perfect for a student with a backpack. Have it sitting straight up in your bag so you can easily unzip and just pull your laptop out without having to pull the whole case out! The product has been working well for us so far - no issues at all. We are using it mostly as an archive system where we store backups from many different sources (mainly VM images). It provides great flexibility with storage capacity options. Some time ago we have had problems with performance and reliability however this was sorted by adding more hardware.
