As an above average but far from an anal person, they fit my needs. I work as an operator/maintenance mechanic in a high speed manufacturing facility and they fit pretty well my needs Up until this point I've used clockwork calipers from "regular scumbags" in HFT. They've been doing the trick for 13 years but are starting to show their flaws (loose and sloppy. I usually only use them once or twice in the year I thought SHARS was a pretty respected sole proprietorship when it comes to machine tools and since I take very good care of my tools and never hesitate to spend good money on name brand tools or tool trolley caliber tools I could definitely use STARRET or MITUTOYO not justify for a very rare occasion when I use a vernier caliper r need.
