The best comparison for this mug is a heated mug. A family member has an Ember and I decided to try the Vsitoo S-3 mainly because it holds 12 ounces and the battery should last 4 hours. Overall, I am very satisfied with the performance so far. It holds more coffee/tea than Ember. Granted, Ember looks a little better and the Ember app is definitely more user-friendly, but the truth is you don't need an S3 app, which is a really nice touch. The S3 has a tactile button on the mug that allows you to change the temperature right on the mug (you can also do this via the app). The cup readings are in degrees Celsius (while the app allows reading in degrees Fahrenheit). Once converted through you, it's easy enough to remember that 55 degrees Celsius is 135 Fahrenheit. I usually keep the temperature of the mug at around 55-60 degrees Celsius (the temperature rises to 65 degrees). Higher temperatures will affect battery life, but the S3 will still get hot for longer periods of time. Another thing to keep in mind is that a mug works best when you start with a hot liquid (so it doesn't work to heat the liquid, it works to maintain the temperature). The S3 also tends to retain heat for longer unless you remove your travel case. Because the mug's heating element is at the bottom, the lid also helps keep the temperature of the liquid higher. I don't mind, but some people may prefer a mug without a lid. The cup is packed very well; I was surprised. After all, other reviews have already commented on the app. While the Android version is a little rough, to be honest, once you connect the mug to the app. more is not possible, and since there is a tactile button directly on the cup, I rarely use the app anyway. I think the S3 is a smart buy. UPDATE 1/29/21. I encountered some issues with the app and firmware update. Vsitoo customer support responded quickly and I was able to resolve the issue. Good service!
