So I live in an old house without large closets in the bedroom, and my husband and I have long since run out of hanging space in our small closet. Some time ago I bought a portable clothes rack (just a clothes rail) and I used it and everything was fine. But recently I realized I needed more than just a hanging rod, so I started looking for portable closets with shelves and stumbled upon this one. I ordered it without high expectations but decided to try it as the price was good. Received yesterday and immediately decided to collect. The instructions are pretty easy to figure out, but after making the first 2 shelves I found it was MUCH easier to slide across the shelf before adding the ends (you'll understand when you have instructions). It's also important to write the part number on any bag that doesn't have one (especially the bag with the mount). Also make sure you push all the pins in as hard as you can so your shelf doesn't come out unevenly. I found it helpful to press each shelf down firmly but gently (I don't want to break any crossbars or brackets) to ensure any stains are gone before placing the shelf on the unit. I would say it took about 30 minutes to assemble and then put the lid on. I couldn't be happier with this device. It's durable and looks really good. Note that there is only 1 clothes rail. So if you are looking to hang more things than baskets, shelves, etc., this may not be for you. However, the hanging rod holds many items. I use some of the side shelves to hold my bags and I've found them falling out of the side shelves - a quick fix was some thin bungee cords from the dollar store (3 cords per dollar) and tied them around the wrapped sides of the shelf. Excellent, the pockets fit well and don't fall out to the side. All parts were in the box including some extra brackets which I thought was a good deal. This is a quality product for the price.
