This oral irrigator is great! Anyone who complains about mold does not air the product directly and/or does not clean it properly and does not let it dry (that is the main thing). The container can be removed for washing and cleaning. You can then dry the device as it will get wet if you use it over the sink. Rinse the tank (there is a hole at the top of the tank where the pump hose goes in where you can drain it), let it dry, leave the tank cap open and you won't have a problem with mold. These photos of a unit with mold/fungus will keep the tank from drying out. You should not leave water in the tank unless it is in use, the tank is not large enough to ensure this. Just fill it up before each use. I use it daily and have changed the batteries 3 times in about 6 months. Not bad.
