I installed this on my 2008 Pathfinder (now 2018/156k miles) when I noticed that sometimes the fan runs 100% fine 95% of the time and doesn't blow 5% of the time, but when I encounter a bump when starting, so I assumed it was the brushes in the motor. It was great because back then I decided in advance to replace it with a b4 in the winter because it would surely fail if I got cold with a frosted windshield. When I installed it, it hummed to exactly the same DB as the old one, but only pushed out about 75% of the air. I thought it was the cabin filters - maybe because I really didn't want to pull the damn thing out (insertion is really the trickiest part as you have to put 3 screws holding this thing at a weird angle, on the head - but I'll come back to the rating). Filter changed - didn't seem to blow as much so I took it off again and found the shorted cage wasn't as high - the original filter had an extra lip. I removed the little one-sided thing, removed the new cage from the new fan, replaced it with the old cage, and voila! 100%. I gave this 3 stars because the new motor has real roller bearings while the Siemens OEM fan motor had oil bushings. After doing this job the hard way - 2 times I would suggest you save money and just replace the motor - after you remove the shorted cage you save 1 screw buck and do a better job than if you did would replace the whole block. !
