I bought this for my mother who has a very severe allergy, very severe as I put it in my room I noticed the absence of a loud cough during the Night The noise level is great to be honest half the time I don't even realize it's on until I check and see the blue light, the humidifier is a good little size, it fits right on the bedside table. My mom has to leave hers in bed with her because of the crappy plug sockets in our apartment, so it's safe to be there too. Actually, there are no smells in my mother's room other than her natural smell, which is not a smell. Odor at all, so I can't talk about eliminating odors in a humidifier. Overall my mom loves it, I love it because she has a bit of peace from her pesky allergies.
