Not super bright or loud ENOUGH

At first sight I was impressed by this bike light with built in horn. I charged it up and turned on the light in my house and it looks pretty bright from up close inside the house. The problem is that I used it on my bike ride home at night and it's bright enough to see maybe a few feet in front of me. I had to go down the bike path quite slowly because there wasn't enough light to see which way the path was turning. I toggled the brightness settings to make sure I wasn't doing anything wrong. I was certainly in the brightest environment. This light will definitely make you more visible to those around you at night. In addition, it will be possible to drive at night, but not easy and not pleasant. The beep is mostly loud and annoying enough for others in your house to annoy you if you press the button more than once. I would say it's loud enough to hear from a distance. BUT it can still be and should be louder. There are jerks on the trail who don't pay attention to the world around them. It's very frustrating to approach an unsuspecting couple whose dogs are the whole damn width of the path, someone walking on the wrong side or cycling etc with them) otherwise they have nothing but they won't pay attention Look for noises you hear from behind. For example. I was driving down the drive to work and there was a slow guy in headphones and next to him was his little Yorkie. I squeaked and squeaked and squeaked. I think it was more than loud enough. The dog turned to me very quickly, but the owner was still in the room. I had to stop and scream to get his attention. Other specimens were similar. This thing's noise seems loud enough, but when it catches her attention, it barely manages to keep up. The thing is, for the alert, sane average person walking down the trail, that horn is loud enough. The problem is that it doesn't describe many of the people on the trail. Perhaps most of the people you meet need an overwhelming noise level to make them consider stepping out of the way. I read in the description that this horn is 120 dB. It would seem like it would be too loud but it isn't, ignorant people interfering on the track need to turn up the volume. So I've seen some other options (horn only) with a value of 140dB, I'll try that. I also found out that it is rated at 250 lumens on the light aspect. There are some with much higher lumens. I found one with 1200 lumens. Some are even higher.

Pros
  • SUPER BRIGHT BICYCLE LIGHT FOR YOUR SAFETY
Cons
  • Lots of stuff
