Mug looks good. The bottom is flat and has an aluminum disk which should allow for good heat transfer. With great optimism, I filled it with hot coffee and placed it on the coffee warmer, setting it on the highest setting. The coffee got cold quickly. I checked the temperature. The heating pad was 211.6. The coffee was 121.2. I'm sorry, but that's a pathetic performance. Aside from not working at all, the cup is fine. I don't like the wooden handle but if the coffee was really hot the cup might be hot too and I would appreciate the wooden handle more. Another review above suggested filling the air ring around the aluminum disc with epoxy. to improve heat transfer. I can try, but buying a tube of epoxy to try and fix that cup can be a good waste of money after a bad one.
