In our throwaway society, I think 4 years is a long time for some consumer goods that need to be stocked or stored. If I buy a product as a retiree, this chair, I expect it to last at least as long as I have. For 4 years I struggled to keep the back of this chair taut, but as other reviewers have pointed out, the back kept loosening and I had to keep tightening it. In the last 6 months, the imitation leather cover on the seat and backrest has come loose. I guess I have to spend my regular income renovating this now crappy looking chair to buy another one that is driving me to my death. So! So life is.
