It's like licking an ashtray!

If you like licking ashtrays, you'll love this smoke infusion! Surprisingly, they managed to capture even the most subtle flavors. After infusing a few cheeses, each piece seemed like a light touch of a slowly smoldering ember of tobacco. Delicious! I know what you're thinking: is it more like cigarettes or cigars? I asked myself that too and did a blind tasting test with some of the guests I had recently hosted. The test focused on an old-fashioned, smoke-filled cocktail. All versions used the same basic ingredients in the same proportions: bourbon, maple syrup, bitters, and orange peel. Yes, I'm a bit of a mixologist. Option A was prepared using a smoke brewer according to the instructions in the helpful recipe cards that came with it. I used elegant maple sawdust which I feel complements the maple syrup in the cocktail. Option B was made with the same base cocktail, but instead of inhaling, I gently dipped a lit, half-smoked Marlboro cigarette into a mixing glass for about 30 seconds. before pouring it into a chilled vintage glass for my guests. Option C was again made with the same base cocktail but I added a 25% Macanudo Smoked Cigar to the drink. It was a blind tasting. All guests received three options in three different glasses at the same time and were allowed to try them in any order. While pattern C was the favourite, 4 out of 8 guests chose it as their favourite, variant A surprisingly shared second place! At first I couldn't believe it held up the real deal so well, but I think they really put a lot of R&D into this device. The build quality seems excellent so I'm sure I can use it to mimic ashtray scents for years to come!
