We have 2 Regalo baby gates - at the top and bottom of our stairs. But at the bottom of the stairs the older kids kept pushing him and he slipped or went off and the paint was peeling off in a couple of places. The harder you tighten those screws in the gate, the more the rubber on the gate loosens, so you're actually screwing the metal to the wall. We didn't really want to put a gate in the wall to make it permanent as it was our last child and we have a new house. So I finally ordered them and it solved the problem and now the gate is very strong! I saw one reviewer say there were rubber word dents on the wall so I'm hoping that won't happen but compared to gate peel paint that slides off on impact this is a better one Alternative. This is of course a solution to a real problem, thanks to whoever was smart enough to invent it!
