Soothing and soothing - Absorbs FAST - EXCELLENT skin prep canvas!

I use Korean skincare products in my daily routine and have noticed a noticeable improvement in overall smoothness and clarity. The mirror does NOT lie. Likewise my bank account. What started as a trial balloon has now become a keeper for me. That said, I don't share the sheer mania, and almost hysteria, about Korean and Asian skincare in general. I don't have (or don't want) time for all the steps of proper Korean skincare. Not because I don't want to, but because traveling with so many products isn't what I want to do. My vanity case and cabin, even optimized for travel, weigh a damn ton. I choose my skincare products carefully, choosing what works for me, from Olay Luminous Cream (pretty wonderful, btw) to over-the-counter ROCs. The retinol cream in the bronze-gold tube goes with everything I change with the season and my skin's needs. Now, Missha's Time Revolution The First Essence is said to be very similar to the famous SK 11 Essence, but is actually a rustic cousin; one in which Cate Blanchett's ethereal skin serves as a beacon for potential SK 11 clients. I bought a bottle from a Korean online cosmetics store, I liked how my skin reacted to it, so this is my second bottle. I immediately felt that it was calming. I mistook this for a toner and applied it to prep after the double cleanse. my skin before soaking in the base serum (sometimes an over-the-counter retinol cream), moisturizer, and Differin gel. I put some on a cotton pad and gently wipe my face and neck with it. In fact, this is a very good tonic. There is no stinging or burning when applied. Also NO residual fire. After reading the pack, I sometimes apply it the way it's recommended, which is: - Apply directly to the skin with your fingers and massage in. That works great too. It sinks in in about 30 seconds and you're ready for what's next. There is a very slight stickiness when first applied, but this disappears in seconds. My skin tolerates it well. Honestly I can't say my skin is clearer than the Cosrx Brightening Serum but it primes my skin so well. It's like preparing a canvas before painting seriously. If the preparation is not done properly, everything that follows will reflect that. The heavy bottle is ready-to-travel PITA, but you can open the plastic stopper and CAREFULLY (very carefully) drain the liquid into a ready-to-travel container. you will notice I never remembered what the package said about "barley" and what it contained. Really, doesn't it matter? I mean, I've read what's on the box, but I don't take it as scripture. Korean/Asian skincare is EXACTLY similar to western skincare in that it's the same "ole-blah-blah-blah" quasi-scientific gibberish that we have to swallow like chicks. . I just want the product to do at least half of what it promises. I feel more like Janet (What have you done for me lately?) Jackson when I use a Du Jour product. I will use it for a long time. It is harmless, VERY good at removing dirt residue from the skin after cleansing, and is a good introduction to the world of Korean-style essences. I tried to find a word to describe exactly how my skin felt after using this Missha product and I found it felt BALANCED. And calms down. Thank you for taking the time to read this review. I hope this helped.
