I have regularly used Safety 1st locks on my toilets due to their proximity; However, after too many cleanings, they eventually came loose and popped out. I decided to try this product after finally running out of substitutes. What I love about it is that the strap folds down and out of the way when the toilet is in use. But like some of the other reviewers, I had trouble getting it to fit perfectly due to the curvature of my toilet seat. No matter how hard I squeezed, there was a significant gap at the bottom. It's probably just a matter of time before it shows up. My decision? Coat the entire perimeter with silicone sealant/sealant. It not only fills the bottom gap but also protects it from moisture seeping into the glue. I am confident that this simple and relatively inexpensive solution will extend the life of this product. However, due to frequent daily use, the lock itself is beginning to break - both the outer rubber and the inner locking mechanism. This is to be expected given how strict my family is with most household items and I daresay this item has lasted longer than most. Happy replacement.
