🔧 Enhance Trailer Maintenance with CE Smith Trailer Washers Spindle Review

Just what I needed to complete the installation of my new replacement TyeDown hub/carrier. Now I have another one that can also be put in the box as a spare.

This product was purchased with a 1" trailer hub which fits my trailer perfectly. A 1" lead screw nut requires a 3/4" slotted nut. but these castellated nuts are 1 inch which I can't use.

Local Tractor Supply charged $7.99 for a nut, washer and pin. Got this DOUBLE SET for 8 dice and no less change from CE Smith. CE Smith is like the kings of boat trailers. Great product, excellent value for money.

OK. I think we all know this is about 8 cents. happy to pay! Fits perfectly on my 1" axles and the quality is right for the price.

Unusual purpose; This spindle is used to balance the racing wheels used on two road bars I've built. Traditional wheel balancers just don't work. The central holes are not concentric. Drill a hole in the workbench, leave the gasket on and add some light oil and you have a static balancer.

Trailer tag says I have 6000 lb axles. Measured and hoping they would fit my 1 missing bushing. It went well, no problem! My spindles needed D-washers and clamps, not those cotter pins. I wish there were both, depending on your axle configuration. In general there are no complaints!

I bought rigid hubs that fit a 1" axle journal. They say 1" axle nuts and it was recommended to buy them with the hubs so thought I'd buy them. Remember that the profile plug is much thinner than the thickness of the plug. Be careful, if it's recommended make sure you test it for a 1" axle and not a 1" threaded section.
