Mech. Totally average. I used to always wear Rockports. They were cheap with crappy soft bottoms that wouldn't last long. I was hoping the soles would sit better on them and they could be a tad better, but it's still the same lightweight foam crap. Of course they are light. The sole is probably made from recycled flip flops or something, and the other materials are certainly not heavy. Each shoe probably contains 0.78 cents of material. They look good, but they're no more comfortable than any other $60 shoe. In fact, they seem a bit awkward. I am shocked that they have such a high rating. I bought them simply because I need a new pair and didn't have time to physically buy them, so I decided to try them blind. This has now motivated me to spend more on the shoes I wear to work. - After 15 years of buying these shoes for work, the quality (for the $50-$80 range) has completely degraded to these shiny foam-soled rags. I put them on (it doesn't take long) and then look for better quality shoes. If you agree to swapping them out regularly, they will work. But I'd rather spend another $60 and buy something more comfortable and durable.
