Works, but could be a little better. Fits your budget.

I will try to be brief in this review. It's a neat kit with a few parts that you'll need. The smaller chrome punch is probably better for paper and very thin lining leather. A diamond file can be useful for cleaning the inside of perforated holes, but I wouldn't use it for sharpening stamp barrels. There is a good selection of drill holes and two spare brass anvils. if you wear them out. But the barrels I tested didn't make perfectly clean holes due to very little uneven contact with the anvil. No big deal, just twist the skin a little and press again. Rivets are a good choice, but not as premium as some of the more well-known leather goods brands. I checked the loop I made in the photos and was able to break the rivet with about 40 pounds of force. The stitching is stronger than the rivets in this case if you use 100lb waxed nylon thread. However, for light to medium projects these rivets come in a good range of sizes and colors and work well for the occasional repair or replacement. When you need to punch a lot of different holes in leather, it generally gets the job done much quicker than using a manual hole punch with a hammer.

Pros
  • Punching and Punching
Cons
  • Slightly Torn
